Our Core Values

OUR AIMS AND CORE VALUES

Our service is built upon 3 core aims:

  1. To provide the best possible person centred care to our patients.

  2. To create a culture of learning and improving for all.

  3. To create an excellent working environment.

  1. We believe the best way to deliver person centred care is through relationship continuity. Continuity of care has a strong evidence base demonstrating enhanced patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, patient safety, resource utilisation and clinician job satisfaction. In order to ensure patients can see their preferred clinician we need to provide high levels of access.

  1. We recognise the importance of learning as a primary driver for positive change. We work with our patients to increase their understanding, support them in self-management and motivate them to make key lifestyle changes. All staff are fully engaged in training and have personal development plans. Time is set aside weekly for clinicians to meet and learn from one another.

  1. We work as a team and support staff to flourish and believe that enjoying their job helps them to better care for our patients. Stress is generated by feeling out of control, so we ensure that staff have the time, skills and support to do the job well and that demand is properly managed with patients needs being met.

Our Core Values

Quality and Safety – we aspire to the highest standards of excellence and professionalism throughout the practice. We practice evidence based healthcare and provide care that is clinically safe.

Timely Access – we aim to provide good access to named health care professionals.

Continuity – getting to know our patients is important to us. We like our patients to see the same GP as much as possible. We treat each patient as an individual.

Learning Environment – clinical staff update regularly, reflect on our practice, audit our services and are always looking for ways to do things better.

Respect – we respect each member of our team, as well as our patients. We recognise equality and diversity.

Confidentiality – we train our staff on how to protect patient data and follow strict protocols.

Teamwork – We work very much as a team. Each member of our team has an important part to play in ensuring our patients receive the best possible care.

Collaboration – with other health professionals in order to provide you with the most appropriate care.

Expectations

As patients you can expect from us:

To be friendly and approachable

To turn straightforward prescription requests around within 48 working hours. If your request is more complicated or you have an arrangement for your script to be forwarded onto a pharmacy it may take longer.

To turn simple queries around within 48 working hours

We prioritise NHS work. Non NHS work i.e. holiday cancellation forms may take up to 2 weeks to process

Please note that we are unable to take prescription requests over the telephone

What we expect from you as patients:

As a patient we ask that you are considerate to all staff. The Practice has a zero tolerance policy towards anyone who is violent or abusive. You may be asked to register with a different surgery

Courtesy to the staff at all times - remember they are working under the doctors' directions

An appointment is for one person only - where another member of the family needs to be seen or discussed, another appointment should be made

Patients should make every effort when consulting the surgery to make best use of nursing and medical time - home visits should be medically justifiable and not requested for convenience

To turn up on time for your appointment. If you are more than 10 minutes late you may be asked to rebook your appointment

Please be patient when the doctors run late. They make every effort to run on time but sometimes patients need a little more time than the 10 minutes that the GP has allocated.
